April is Fair Housing Month
 
National Fair Housing Month is recognized in April to celebrate the signing of the Fair Housing Act by Congress in 1968. The Act makes discriminations in the sale, rental, and advertising in housing unlawful, and assures that our citizens are treated equally. It prohibits housing discrimination based upon race, color, national origin, religion, age, gender, disability, marital status, or familial status. Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation
 
SENCA is currently taking applications from Richardson County residents for Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation. This program is aimed at assisting low-to-moderate income homeowners with the rehab and preservation of the area’s older housing stock. The program will address code deficiencies, minimum rehab standards, energy conservation, fire protection, emerging deficiencies, and minor general improvements.
